Why Eagle Springs Teen Boy's Center?

Maybe it was a chance encounter; but we believe there is always more working things together. 

We feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to meet the boys last year through a friend as a mentor, the chance encounter, that eventually led to larger support from Ring of Fire Ministries; during the Christmas season of 2025. 

These boys touched our hearts, and we can only hope to encourage them to keep going through the challenges of life; and continue to support those working hard to support them.

There are many ways to help, from donating for general support, individual support, or simply offering encouragement to let them know they are not alone in the struggles life presents us all.

We look forward to seeing them at this year's Gala, supporting the mission, and hearing more about their own stories!

Key Insights:

No establishment is perfect. Wherever there is good then there is opposition, often working to cause misunderstandings and challenges, in the midst of good people. 

Sincere stories have struggle, failures, and perseverance. We may mess up many times, but we keep getting back up. Cheer for the underdog, lift up the downtrodden, comfort the wounded, and encourage the weak to be strong. 

Never let perceived failures or hard stories discourage the hope for victory, even when it remains unseen. Often the overcoming can come many years later, and at times, never seen by those who were first looking.

The At What Cost Event, by Awaken Nevada, was located in a beautiful location at the Tahoe Church outdoor amphitheater, in Truckee, CA.

The Event was well organized, easy to get to, with convenient parking and a friendly welcome the moment we arrived. This was a small, intimate setting, with a powerful message and very sincere presenters. 

The film, At What Cost, is eye opening and gives you raw details of the behind-the-scenes understanding of how destructive legal prostitution is and how much is affected by human trafficking, legal or illegal; it is dehumanizing and wrong.

Although this subject matter can be hard, upsetting, depressing, and downright frustrating; the stories of rescue and recovery are the light that overcomes the darkness.

One of our favorite sayings of this night was how they described by helping even just one of these victims, changing a life, is like ..."making Paul's out of Saul's". It really only takes one, and that Light of Hope keeps them going, year after year.

Key Insights:

"It is easy to love the lovable, but can you Love the unlovable?" This is a hard question, and if we are honest this can seem impossible at times; especially if we are asked if we can love our perceived enemy? 

As you gain understanding you may start to realize that if you can reach out and change the life for both the victims and the ones using them for money, then it starts to unravel the system itself. 

When the perceived enemy is changed, then the light starts to expose the ones that hide in the shadows; the buyers. And once the whole system is turned upside down it exposes the root of the problem to be lifted up, changed, or removed.
